BTS’ Suga Poised for Mandatory Military Service in South Korea!
The BTS member Suga is about to begin his military service in South Korea.
Big Hit Music confirmed Suga's beginning of the military recruitment procedure by requesting the termination
of his enlistment delay in a statement on Weverse.
As stated in the statement, fans are urged to continue supporting Suga while he is serving in the military an
d wait for his safe return.
In celebration of his debut album, Suga just wrapped off his "D-Day" tour with three performances at Seoul's
KSPO Dome from August 4 to 6.
Following the final performance, Suga made an emotional appearance on Weverse to chat with fans and reminisce
on BTS' ten-year journey.
Suga made a possible delay implication, without specifically mentioning his military service, by proposing a
fan meeting in 2025.
According to South Korean law, physically healthy men between the ages of 18 and 28 must serve in the militar
y for between 18 and 21 months.
Contrary to several professions, like sports and the classical arts, K-pop artists are not excused from milit
ary duty under special circumstances.
After the Military Service Act was changed in 2020, BTS members were given the option to put off joining the
military until they turned 30.
